Château de Pompadour is open to visitors and its stables are also worth seeing. Under the gaze of the chateau, Pompadour holds many equestrian events from March through to October (dressage, show-jumping and cross-country) and there is horseracing (a mix of flat and jumps) at Pompadour’s Hippodrome throughout the summer – you can even eat at the racecourse restaurant when racing is on (reservations essential) or take a picnic.
As well as being a lovely village, there is a great lake at Treignac, with numerous activities for all of the family. Some of the experiences through the summer months include hand-gliding, biking, hiking, archery, paddle boarding, canoeing, pedaloes, aqua run, wipe-out experience and many other activities – for more information take a look at their website for further details: https://sportsnature-correze.com
